Overview
Are you at a whim on the weekends? Do you want to make a difference to a family? If this is you, then this role may be perfect for you. REED Community Care are recruiting support for a young boy, he is small but mighty and is 7 years old. This young boy has a rare degenerative brain condition, this can cause hyperactivity and can lead to the young child struggling to sleep at night. He is nonverbal and is unable to feed himself, staff would be required to help feed this young person. He enjoys swimming, trampolining, and will watch some TV if he is in his wheelchair. Key skills needed for this role: Provide full personal care Be available at weekends Be vigilant when with the client, as he will grab everything in sight Be aware of PICA diagnosis (eats anything and everything) Support is there to help get him out of the house whilst the family are having some adaptations done, and to also give parents some respite. Shifts: Saturday and Sunday, 6 hours each shift. This has the potential to turn into waking nights in the future. Are you able to commit to shifts on an ongoing basis?
