Overview

Residential House Manager 16 - 25, diagnoses include autism, asperges`s and mental health Responsible for 10 residential students. Sheffield Must have NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Or equivalent) The Residential House Manager- (Not Registered Manager) will be a member of the residential team and work in a flexible and collaborative manner with the Residential Team and the Area Manager. Each Residential House Manager will be responsible for overseeing and supervising an allocated group of residential staff and provision within one or more residential houses. Residential House Managers will be expected to ensure the effective operation of the residential provision. They will work directly with the residential staff to ensure the delivery of an appropriate extended curriculum programme to the students within the residential provision. (No prior experience of education is required) The Homes Currently have 7 homes, 3-5 beds per home, these homes are spread out across the Sheffield area but the Residential House Manager would be responsible for 10 residential students. Service users are aged from 16-25 years old, who have a range of special educational needs and complex diagnoses, learning disabilities, autism and asperges. Hours- Working 40 hours per week on a shift base with an expectation they work evenings and weekends as they will need to do QA for the residential homes, supervisions, house meetings with students, role modelling for new staff and overseeing new staff inductions. The post holder will be able to contribute to the core purpose in improving the education and lives of the young people as well as delivering support to providers who are part of the Shared Lives Scheme. Facilities such as - Bakery, metal work shop, glasshouse, field centre. Main duties- -Ensure the delivery of high quality residential provision. -Liaising with parents and other agency`s -Tracking and recording the progress and achievement of students. -Experience of managing a team. -Hands on experience with learning disabilities, autism, aspergers and challenging behaviour. -Knowledge and experience of CQC standards. -Attend meetings and support and promote equality. Person Specification- -Minimum NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care (or equivalent) qualification Ideally Level 4 or 5. - Significant operational experience in a care environment working with all levels of staff and management - Experience of working within a complex organisation -Experience of working with young people with learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge -High level of emotional and social intelligence.
