Purchasing Administrator / Buyer
Overview
As a part of VIAVI’s Wireless Business Unit based in Stevenage, we’re currently looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful, hardworking Purchasing Administrator / Buyer on a 12 Month FTC. You will be responsible for general day to day activities and maintain formal Purchasing practices. Plan, schedule and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases. As a Purchasing Administrator / Buyer your skills and qualifications will ideally include: We would love to meet someone with • Good IT skills most importantly in Excel or equivalent. • MRP systems • Ideally from a Manufacturing, Electronics background but will consider other industries • Must be incredibly numerate and analytical and highly organized with attention to detail. • Time management and being able to prioritise • Good interpersonal skills – able to build and manage relationships with colleagues and suppliers As a Purchasing Administrator / Buyer your main responsibilities will involve: • Daily monitoring of Material Schedules and action messages for material. • Placing orders with suppliers in line with material requirements. • Cost effective sourcing of non-contractual requirements. • Provide feedback of supplier deliveries/issues, expedite and de-expedite material. • Monitoring of inventory parameters in line with commodity trends and supplier restraints. • Process paperwork generally associated with the day to day Purchasing function. • Ensure timely delivery of products from suppliers and to cost effectively resource product that has been identified as undeliverable within required timescales. • Process and return material or product of questionable quality to the supplier and ensuring appropriate returns/credits are received.
