Overview

Job Description

We would like recruit an enthusiastic assistant psychologist who is keen to join our team of psychologists working in our Older People's Services in Hertfordshire. This post will be based in our Integrated Care Team, which is a multidisciplinary virtual ward project, focused on working with people with long term physical health conditions and frailty. An important aspect of this role will be the delivery of community based self-management approaches, both with and under the supervision of the practitioner psychologist. You will work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary teams and support other professionals in the provision of evidence based psychological approaches. There will also be opportunities to contribute to audit and service development activities as required, and regular, supportive supervision will be provided. The post is part time (22.5hours a week) and will be based in the North of Hertfordshire. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates undergoing a Health Psychology training pathway, in addition to candidates who have experience delivering a programme of psychological therapy, in particular approaches which are cognitive and/or behaviourally orientated. As much of the work will be with older people, experience of working with this client group, would be a definite advantage.
