Overview
A leading life science company are looking to expand their production and R&D team and are seeking an experienced Production Engineer. The Role: Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, and with a matrixed report to Product Development, the Production Engineer will have assist with the transfer and subsequent optimisation of production processes for instruments and consumables, including: Transfer and Setup - Mechanical design work to support introduction of new or amended parts and processes. Including GD&T and tolerance analysis of designs - Production process design and implementation, to include development and upkeep of documentation for production processes. - Design transfer, including BOM management, change and release control. Both within excel and MS Dynamics - Design & Manufacture of production tooling - Management of pre-production batches. Including design of experimental batches required to qualify improvements - Training of production technicians Troubleshooting - Troubleshooting of manufacturing issues for both instruments and consumables, using both route cause and statistical methods - Supporting suppliers to ensure components are manufactured on time and to specification. - Process Improvement - Design and implementation of process improvements, with the aim of increasing efficiency and robustness and/or reducing cost. - Development of production support tools. Qualifications & Selection Criteria - Good working knowledge of Solidworks - Experience working with ERP systems MS Dynamics 365 preferred - Excellent time management and organisational skills - Accuracy and attention to detail - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Rate - £25 - £35 per hour Contract length – 3 - 6 months (with a view to extend) The interview process is going to be a one stage onsite interview taking place ideally on Friday 13th March but can be flexible.
