Overview
Chief Development Engineer- Harwich- Salary £40,000- £50,000 My client are an engineering company that dedicate themselves into understanding their customer's needs. They utilise many years of knowledge through their machines, projects and offer unparalleled quality and reliability. They are equipped in completing the full concept through to the manufacturing of the product. The ideal person will have strong problem-solving skills, a creative approach to generating new ideas and an excellent grasp of engineering and design principles with the ability to integrate with the wider team. This position will be focussed on R&D where you will be working on multiple projects whilst being responsible for the budgets that links with the projects. Job responsibilities include: Providing guidance to members of the Mechanical Design team and technical authority in various key areas Generate mechanical designs & drawings using 3D & 2D CAD packages (SolidWorks / AutoCAD LT). This can include assisting with customer specific layouts Resolving issues as needed Create designs for new equipment Work with other areas of the engineering team Develop, test and evaluate theoretical designs and produce reports detailing the process Consider the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints in all designs Look for opportunities to improve designs from a functional & cost perspective Attend technical meetings & discussions as required To be considered for the position: HNC in Mechanical Engineering/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering Strong SolidWorks experience Ability to design mechanical assemblies using creative solutions Able to design a complete machine from scratch and the ability to understand the various machines that the business work with Packaging experience is ideal but not essential This is a brilliant opportunity for a Design Engineer as you have the chance to design a complete machine as a ground up concept. Being involved in testing and prototypes with expectations to be hands on and really get immersed in the position. The ability to work in a company that are the only business that have their exact process within the UK.
