Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a Security Analyst to ensure security controls and protection is in place on the communication infrastructures relating to a £500M programme of critical applications, devices and network connectivity to the 13 Ambulance services across the UK. You will be responsible for all security elements involved in planning, design, options appraisal, testing and delivery of services and products. Based in Bristol. £44,606 to £50,819 depending on experience plus NHS benefits inc. 27% Pension. Reporting into the Security Manager, you will investigate the latest security development of emerging technologies advise accordingly of risks, issues and opportunities relating to the Emergency services context and hold responsible for the identification and remediation of security vulnerabilities in the services provided by this exciting programme. This includes working with suppliers, trusts and project teams to understand and communicate information security risks, building strong and effective working relationships with other service management and technical disciplines, suppliers, users across the Ambulance Trusts and emergency services, the wider NHS and managing the conflicting demands and tensions of a range of stakeholders, translating highly complex technical information for non-technical staff to understand. Key Aspects of the Security Analyst role include: Lead on the Security of devices and applications used by the programme team, overseeing and participating in vulnerability scanning and management in collaboration with suppliers and trusts. Co-ordinate solution assurance activities in collaboration with testers and implementation managers, acting as a security specialist supporting delivery of products throughout the lifecycle from scoping, through procurement, development, implementation and operation. Support the Information Security Manager in the operation of a holistic information risk management process, working with the ambulance accreditor to assure the design, implementation and administration of policies, controls, guidance etc. that have an impact on the security of the systems provided by the programme. The Security Analyst will have demonstrative experience of: Experience of delivering security functions within large projects, programmes or enterprise environments. Experience of identification, analysis and management of security risks. Excellent communication and stakeholder skills - negotiation, motivational, interpersonal and listening skills and an empathic understanding of other people's point of view and the ability to frame and sell solutions that are not always 'win/win'.
