Overview
We’re looking for a stand-alone Payroll and Pensions Officer to work for our client in Macclesfield. They need an experienced Payroll professional to match their needs for the organisation. If you’re able to work autonomously and looking for a new opportunity with a lot of responsibility this could be the perfect role for you Responsibilities: Efficient operation of the Payroll (Payrite) system, Pension Scheme and Local Government Pension Scheme administration. Developing, implementing and maintaining data quality compliance. Developing high and consistent data quality standards and enabling compliance to coincide with audit requirements/statutory payroll and pension returns. Preparing timely and accurate data returns and statistical reports for the organisation and external bodies in accordance with the statutory compliance. (PLEASE ENQUIRE FOR THE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION) What is on offer? 48 days holiday (including bank holidays Christmas closure) Local government pension scheme Reduced gym rate Reduced on site Costa Coffee Free Parking Autonomous working environment The ideal candidate: CIPP Level 3 qualification, or equivalent experience 5 GCSE’s A-C (4-9) including Maths and English Nationally recognised IT qualification i.e. GCSE, ITQ, GCE, ECDL Excellent and demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of customer, management, staff and external agencies to evidence a high quality payroll and pension service delivery An excellent awareness of the changing face of payroll/pension legislation and an ability to keep fully up to date with all changes. Demonstrable ability to perform manual payroll calculations to check the validity of the system calculations. Self-motivated with a pro-active attitude. Excellent IT skills with the ability to use Windows Office, Payrite and Teachers Pension Scheme & Local Government Pension Scheme software packages. Ability to prioritise a busy workload to ensure targets and deadlines are met in accordance with fluctuating operating requirements Working Knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the Teachers Pensions Scheme, including auto-enrolment. Proven ability to meet internal and external stakeholder deadlines in accordance with the HR Payroll & Pension Service Level Agreement’s. Team worker with a positive attitude to sharing skills and information. Flexible approach to workload in a busy HR/Payroll and Pension environment. Proven ability to explain complex payroll and pension information clearly to managers and staff Proven ability to analyse figures and perform manual calculations. Proven ability to reconcile accounts. Demonstrable ability to produce financial reports for Management
