Government Private Law Lawyer Contract -Full-time £25-35 per hour London About the Role: An experienced Private Law/Civil Litigation Lawyer is required to join a Central Government litigation team responsible for handling private law litigation on behalf of a number of government bodies. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or equiv.) who will be able to hit the ground running when handling a large case-load of personal injury, inquest, unlawful detention and stress at work cases (not limited to these areas). The majority of the work will including acting as a defendant on behalf of the Home Office and government departments. The ideal candidate should have strong post qualification experience in civil litigation and will be required to handle all aspects of their cases from pre-action stage up to and including appeals. Key Requirements The ideal candidate for this Private Law Lawyer role will have: Qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or equiv.) Strong private law/civil litigation experience Experience in Personal Injury Law Unlawful detention experience is beneficial but not essential Key responsibilities The successful candidate for this Private Law Lawyer role will be required to: Act as a defendant on behalf of government bodies in general civil litigation and PI cases Handle cases including slips and trips, to asbestosis/mesothelioma Handle all aspects of their cases from pre-action stage up to and including appeals On Offer 11 months initial contract with likely extension Central Government role Central London location £24-35 per hour We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing.
