Overview

Overall Purpose: To maintain correct operation of hosted systems in line with service level agreements To implement customer’s systems within time scales agreed with project management. To pro-actively suggest the use of new technologies and stay abreast of relevant IT technologies A get it right first time approach to all work, whilst maintaining the required throughput of work Essential Functions: Primary Responsibilities: Be knowledgeable regarding all elements of our private cloud hosted system, and products, including Linux, Windows Server, Oracle, web security & network technologies Maintenance of hosted systems to ensure that service level agreements relating to them are exceeded. Regular reporting for hosted systems Network Security Monitoring and monitoring of the network firewalls. Deputise for the IT Team Leader in times of absence Quality of own work. Implementation of customer systems, both on customer and on Enghouse Sites (may be International). Ensuring that documents authored by yourself are kept up to date and correctly reflect the described procedure and that it meets any relevant standards or guidelines. Contribution towards achievement of team goals. Acting as a technical expert in your areas of knowledge. Maintaining skill levels as per the published skills matrix Pro-actively maintain your professional skills with relevant new technologies and new versions of existing technologies. Assist in training other team members to help them to achieve their required skill level. Part of an out of hours on call team subject to agreement of secondary conditions Secondary Responsibilities: Operation and maintenance of networked servers Providing IT assistance to internal staff when required Being aware of regulatory and other practices that might relate to data being handled (egGDPR, ISO27001etc), and ensuring compliance, where appropriate. Additional functions: Such other duties as may be determined from time to time by the IT Team Leader. In particular a degree of flexibility will be required in order to deliver company goals and objectives. This role will involve travelling and staying away from home from time to time The IT department has to provide cover from 08:30 until 17:30 Monday to Friday. You will be expected to cover a fair share of early starts or late finishes within your contracted hours, via an agreed rota. Overtime/On Call is required as part of this position. Either having achieved, or be actively working towards Oracle DBA certification Linux Administration and setup experience (Red Hat/CentOS) Microsoft Windows server VMWare/Xenvirtualization technologies Microsoft SQL server Web Technologies (Inc. Liferay, Apache, IIS & Tomcat) Storage Area Networks (esp EMC) Network infrastructure components and cabling Full driving license Full passport with no travel restrictions to foreign countries Desirable Microsoft MSCSE/MSDBA certification MySQL DBA skills Security technologies and principles Zabbix and other monitoring tools MongoDB install and configuration Firewall management, specifically Checkpoint F5BigIP applianc
