Overview

The UX/UI senior designer will be responsible for overseeing all user experience and design aspects of the organisation, while working alongside the design and creative team. This is a permanent, full time position based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 year's experience in Visual User Interface Design and a preferred BFA or BA Degree in Graphic Design, or an equivalent amount of on-the-job training in web design. The role will consist of: Overseeing all user experience and design aspects of the organisation Guiding the entirety of the design process through its completion by presenting them to stakeholders and working alongside developers to ensure accurate implementation Leading a small team of Designers. Coach your team through reviews and feedback, support their UX/UI growth and raise the capacity, skills and quality of user-centred design on your team Develop and lead the Design team to improve the range of research methods used Exercise your expertise in performance, architecture, and object-oriented design to deliver compelling customer experiences Use customer-driven insights and agile methodologies to deliver elegant and delightful customer experience Create interaction models, user task flows, screen designs, and UI details that promote ease of use and optimise task flows Create and deliver UX/UI design documentation to aid with cross-team communication, collaboration and development Additionally, the candidate will need to have: Advanced skills in Photoshop and illustrator; Axure or similar The ability to create clean, visually consistent design In-depth knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, XD, Illustrator and Microsoft; Experience with Sketch and Zeplin are a plus Proven ability to manage multiple design requests in a timely fashion, with competing priorities and deadlines Experience testing websites and software on a variety of platforms including iOS and Android mobile and devices Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills Solid understanding of digital design concepts, best practice, graphic production and asset optimisation, basic HTML and CSS coding; knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and WordPress are a plus Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively across diverse audiences at various levels of the organisation Domain knowledge of financial services and mutual fund industry, financial advisors, B2B business model Experience working in-house within the financial industry or a major global corporation preferred If you are passionate about design and emerging technologies and devices, you expertly leverage your skills on digital graphic design, typography, and grid systems within your web and mobile projects and you are a self-starter who is comfortable collaborating with multiple global teams, then this is the job for you Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
