Overview

Hampton's Resourcing are currently supporting a well-known and reputable private company with the recruitment of a Counselling Psychologist to join their team at their Surrey based Hospital. The service supports 25 patients in a mental health inpatient service that offers a therapeutic environment where the focus is on maximising positive outcomes and recovery. The Role The Psychologist will provide a psychology service to clients on the unit providing highly specialist psychological assessments as well as individual and group therapy as part of the inpatient rehabilitation programme. The successful candidate will also be expected to offer advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, and to work autonomously within professional guidelines HCPC and BPS guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures. The post-holder will be expected to be involved in audit, policy and service development and the assessment and interpretation of outcomes. As a member of the psychology department, there will be considerable opportunity for further professional development through access to various CPD activities/events and research. Role Responsibilities Provide specialist psychological assessments of clients admitted to the rehabilitation wards based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care. Formulate and implement psychological treatment and management plans for individual service users relating to mental health, risk and social needs. Provide expertise and specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to the client's psychological formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan and facilitate the effective and appropriate provision of psychological care by all members of the team. Ensure all members of the clinical team have access to a psychologically based framework for the understanding and care of clients, through the provision of advice and consultation and the dissemination of psychological knowledge, research and theory. Be responsible for the clinical supervision of Assistant Psychologists and psychology students including workload management and identification of CPD needs. Ensure implementation of best practice guidelines, NICE guidelines and Department of Health guidance for psychological services for serious mental illness and personality disorders. Assist in planning for psychology service development. Candidate Criteria Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical or forensic psychology (or equivalent), leading to eligibility for chartered status with the BPS Eligible for registration with the HCPC under the appropriate domain specific title Eligibility for Graduate Membership of BPS Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of people with a wide range of mental health problems, of varying severity and complexity Experience of working on in-patient wards, and within an MDT framework Experience of CBT group and individual work and in supervising/facilitating/running of therapeutic/psycho-educational groups Experience of working with personality disorders Salary: up to £50,000 Excellent Company Benefits If you are Interested in this position or would like to have a confidential discussion to find out further details, please email your CV or call Natalie DeMarco: 01926 354 600 Hampton's Resourcing prides itself on creating opportunities for Senior Managers to challenge themselves to continually develop their skills and experience.
