Overview

My client is looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join their team on a 14 month maternity cover contract. The role will carry out management and financial accounting for the organisation and will provide support during the year end audit. Client Details My client is a well established business based in central Oxford. They operate in the Financial Services sector and offer generous benefits and tangible career development opportunities. They are looking for somebody to come in on a 14 month contract to cover maternity leave. Description The Assistant Financial Accountant will be responsible for: Preparation and production of monthly balance sheet reconciliations Assist preparation of management accounts of a quarterly basis for presentation to Director of Finance. Help to document and further automate the monthly, quarterly and annual investment and trust accounts. Work on improving processes and databases relating to trusts and investments administration. Work with External Audit on production of financial accounts. Work with Financial Accountant to produce quarterly balance sheets for the organisation and other accounting tasks and analyses. Review latest Market Value statements for investments and record relevant changes to Oracle. The role will help the Financial and Technical accountant on the consolidation of the organisations financial statements and production of year end notes including segmental reporting. Work with the Financial Reporting team on the monthly close of the General Ledger working with departments to ensure all journals are posted correctly and on time. Provision of information to auditors to support the production of financial statements. Work where required on the Oracle Financial projects including user acceptance testing data migration and report testing. Assisting Director of Technical Accounting & Reporting with ad hoc projects, administration and planning of the year end process. Quarterly and annual analytical review of income and expenditure. Provide support to Investment & Trusts Accountant as required. Other ad hoc duties when required to support the wider Financial Reporting Team. Profile The successful Assistant Financial Accountant will: Be studying towards an accountancy qualification such as ACA, CIMA or ACCA Have strong teamwork skills, especially in communicating with users with a wide range of financial skills and at all levels in the organisation. Strong analytical skills and an intuitive mind to identify trends and errors in complex data sets Enthusiastic in the support of change management, by proactively analysing and successfully driving change. Be enthusiastic in providing high quality management reporting for Finance's customers Able to manage workloads with competing priorities.
