Head of Engineering £60,000-£80,000 London A market leading finance media company are looking to add a new Head of Engineering to improve the effusiveness and efficiency of the team of data engineers. You will be delivering on data related products and solutions through an in house team, as well as working with external consultancies to optimise the data platform in the business. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer with management experience to put their stamp on a business THE COMPANY: This company specialise in the insight, information, news and market trends on the asset management and hedge fund industry. Offering an annual fee to provide a business with this insight to influence their decisions on the market. With 2500 clients globally, they have a research team based in Cardiff, Journalists in New York and the Data team in London. This position is brand new to the business, reporting into the CTO this person will oversee the data function and projects across the business. THE ROLE: In your role as Head of Engineering, you will: Deliver data related products and solutions through an in house data engineering team Oversee the data function, deliver the road maps for all the projects and the integration of data sources Manage the team and be hands on when required Write and document quality code for all data sources Proactively suggesting and developing improvements to the codebase and infrastructure YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: To qualify for this Head of Engineering role, you will require: The ability to communicate both technically and non-technically Have a deep understanding of data engineering principals and processes Have experience with relative technologies including SQL, AWS, Alteryx, Python and other ETL tools Have experience leading people or a team in a data engineering capacity THE BENEFITS: A successful applicant will receive: A salary of up to £80,000 HOW TO APPLY: Please register your interest to this Head of Engineering role by applying via this website.
