Overview

This is an opportunity to join the Marketing Team within my client (a global Luxury Beverages company), as a Sourcing & New Product Development Manager. This is a fixed term Maternity Cover contract role of 6 months, starting at the end of March 2020 with a potential opportunity for extension to 12 months. This individual will be responsible for sourcing and managing the production of packaging and accessories for the company. This will include; teapots, cups, gift boxes, gift sets, external packaging and point of sale material. The Role: Able to take a new product from the design drawings to the finished retail product Includes dealing with Far East packaging manufacturers on NPD development projects Continuously comparison-shop and negotiate to make sure the company gets the best possible prices on required supplies Communicate with senior management to gain approval for purchasing contracts with new vendors or on new supplies Maintain a network of professional contacts in order to discover new opportunities for good products to source Process payments and invoices Communicate with suppliers to make sure supplies get where they need to be when they need to be, even when a deadline is tight Quality check to ensure that products received meet up to expectations, challenging the supplier where this falls short Monitor and forecast demand for certain products and make orders accordingly Check inventory, track how inventory is used, and adjust purchasing habits in accord with apparent trends Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness Keep a well-organised collection of contracts for easy reference when needed Attend conferences to meet potential new suppliers and glean insight from other professionals in the purchasing field Person Specification Experience of Far East sourcing Proven experience in Procurement role Excellent negotiation skills Experience of working in the luxury market Ability to work on own initiative, managing project from start to finish Ability to organise and plan own work Strong leadership capabilities Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to ensure effective communication with a wide range of contacts both internal and external via different communication means A flexible, pro-active approach to work including the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise to achieve successful outcomes If this exciting and challenging opportunity sounds of interest, and you have the experience required, then please apply now.
