Overview
Our client, a manufacturer of electro-mechanical products, seek to appoint a Design Manager to lead their design team. As Design Manager you will manage a team of circa fifteen design engineers (electrical, electronic, mechanical and software) on a variety of R&D projects. You will be capable of galvanising a team to ensure optimum performance. On offer is an excellent financial package alongside the long term security provided by a growing and stable employer. Design Manager - Role & Responsibilities - Engineering Manager / Design Engineer / Project Manager Oversee R&D focused design projects from cradle to grave: initial scope, feasibility study, design work, prototyping and test, production engineering, snagging, field support Driving force of projects: liaise with internal stakeholders to deliver on-time and on-budget Manage multi-disciplined project teams including mechanical, electrical, electronic and software design Handle customer and supplier queries Some travel required to customer sites as appropriate. Rare but occasionally required Design Manager - Skills & Abilities - Engineering Manager / Design Engineer / Project Manager Good grounding in design engineering working for electro-mechanical manufacturing business HND qualified as a minimum, degree preferred Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic and software engineering Experience of managing multi-disciplined design teams on multiple R&D projects Previous experience of project management Design Manager, Electro-mechanical, Manufacturing, Engineering, Projects
