Overview

Head of Engineering London In our current climate, digital innovation in analogue and traditional industries is becoming an increasingly important focus. We are working with a client who is leading the digital disruption of a traditionally waterfall, monotonous industry and is seen as a leader in providing cutting edge technology solutions to their clients. They are looking to bring on a new face to lead the Engineering practice as a Head of Engineering to lead the ongoing project that they are involved with. You will be overseeing both front-end and back-end engineers using a modern tech stack including Go and Python (Backend), Typescript, JavaScript, Node, (Frontend) GraphQL. In this project you will also use Docker, Kubernetes and deploying to GCP whilst the team will be building CI/CD pipelines. What you'll be doing: The head of engineering we are looking for has to be diverse and highly skilled, as well as showing an understanding of the technologies being used on the projects you will be charged with: Building and mentoring a high performance team of engineers using Scrum Creating an environment of collaboration and innovation Being pragmatic about strategy and goals, understanding the needs of customers and the capability of the technology and the development process but not being afraid to get stuck in if necessary What experience we need: Beyond the familiarity with a range of both front and back-end technologies we need our head of engineering to be strong with data science and engineering technologies too. Other competencies we consider to be core are: Familiarity with cloud-based software development (particularly Google Cloud Platform) The ability to clearly define a technical vision which sits in line with strategic objectives Strong communication skills and relationship management with stakeholders of all levels from engineers to the CEO you will be directly reporting to What you'll get: Our clients operate within one of the biggest and best equipped WeWorks in London and because they have have such a mix of talent from start-up and enterprise backgrounds you will get the best of both worlds, job stability and an agile and inclusive culture.
