Overview

Internal Solicitor Kings Hill £60,000 - £75,000 Wild Berry Associates, have been a long term partner of one of the UK's largest Insurance providers for many years and we are excited to continue to support them through a period of rapid growth. We are seeking a Internal Solicitor to join the business to oversee the legal, complaints and compliance teams. This position will be to set the legal and compliance strategy and ensure the business is compliant with all appropriate regulation. Key Responsibilities: Advise stakeholders on legal priorities Oversee complaints to external regulators and liaise with external law firms where appropriate Offer counsel across the company on mitigating legal risks and the legal liabilities Research and anticipate unique legal issues that could impact the company Ensure delivery of balanced and pragmatic legal advice and support to the business Oversee the drafting, negotiating and executing of all forms of company contracts and agreement, advise on contractual obligations and interpret terms and conditions Manage, develop and motivate the Legal Team Provide oversight for compliance with the requirements of the FCA and ICO, promoting the highest standards of compliance and corporate governance To keep under review all legislative, regulatory and governance developments that affect the company Provide the Board with the required management information to monitor the effectiveness of compliance and risk controls and management processes Minimum requirements: 5 years PQE - qualified to practice in the UK Commercially astute, from either a private practice, strong in-house or financial services team Qualified to practice law in the United Kingdom LLB/LLM from a top accredited Law School and exceptional academic credentials Excellent technical legal skills, especially drafting and interpretative abilities Working knowledge of data privacy issues (e.g. GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and E-Privacy Regulation) a plus.
