Overview
PROJECT MANAGER City London The Role / Location We are an established and growing team of Project Managers, specialising in the fitout and refurbishment of office and mixed use buildings in central London. The successful candidate will receive the support of a dynamic team that are aspiring to develop and expand their client profile and track record. They will work alongside a number of Directors within the team and be given excellent project exposure along with formal and informal training to develop as an individual and as a project manager. The role will involve spending time in our London offices as required. It will also require time out of the office at project and client meetings; primarily in central London with the occasional requirement for travel outside the M25. There are excellent opportunities for career progression. Key Responsibilities Oversee the delivery of fitout and refurbishment projects at a strategic level to manage the professional team ensuring the client’s brief is delivered and that time, quality and cost parameters are met. Within this remit; Be a brand ambassador for and represent the company. Be focussed on the client and ensure exceptional levels of client service. Support colleagues in the delivery of projects and step in to support them during any periods of absence. Attend industry events and activities as a representative of the company. Develop strong relationships with colleagues and clients to seek opportunities and instructions. Work on own initiative and under autonomy whilst maintaining communication with the wider team and senior Directors. Act with integrity and honesty. Input to team meetings and take on responsibility for delivery of actions and initiatives to support team and business plan goals. Support colleagues across the business and seek to secure combined business development opportunities. Technical role and responsibilities Preparation of fee proposals and pitching to existing and new clients. Support and advise clients in the strategic planning of projects, including providing advice on the overall approach, team, procurement routes, design management, project opportunities, key risks and mitigation. Programme creation and management. Delivery of the necessary documentation required for the delivery of the project, including producing minutes of meetings, project reports, financial reports and other associated documents. Contract administration (JCT suite of contracts). Collaboration with the professional team throughout all stages of the project including briefing, design, tender, construction and handover. Overseeing project completion and close out activities. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Competencies The ideal candidate should be confident and have the ability to communicate well in writing and verbally. They should possess excellent people skills and have the ability and desire to forge strong relationships with peers and clients. They should be a team player who is willing to support their colleagues, step in to deal with any issues that arise and contribute towards achieving team goals. Be a trusted advisor to clients. Strong commercial awareness. Have the ability to work on their own initiative whilst knowing when to ask questions and seek advice. Be keen to learn and to support others. Take pride in their work and how others perceive it. Technical experience:- Has attained a vocational degree qualification, and is MRICS qualified or equivalent. Other project management, engineering, design or cost management qualifications will also be considered. Track record working in the London Office Sector as a Project Manager delivering successful projects. Possesses vision and is able to develop complex strategies and solutions. Ability to be part of a pitch team and present project strategy and approach. Ability to support lead PMs from inception to completion whilst working across multiple projects. Focussed: with good attention to detail. Organised and timely. Strong team player: builds relationships and consults with others, quickly establishes trust and credibility. Robust and prepared to lead from the front. Diplomatic and challenging with the ability to influence others. Strong decision maker who gives assurance. Ethical with strong integrity.
