Salary: From £42,000 to £48,000 per annum + onsite parking

Overview

Main duties and responsibilities: · Manage a team of 4 quality inspectors · To maintain all aspects of the Quality Management System, raising/updating procedures, SOP’s and SIP’s where required. · Undertake internal non-conformance and customer complaint investigations, including writing customer reports using the 8D process, implementing root causes and preventive actions. · Raise Concessions or Production Permits as applicable. · Manage supplier returns for non-conforming product ensuring the supplier has identified the root cause and implemented preventive actions. · Manage and undertake internal and external audits ensuring all non-conformities raised are addressed in a timely manner. · Calibration of inspection and measuring equipment. · Carry out production and inspection testing. · To collate KPI data and present it to the Group Quality Manager monthly, identifying any trends that require action. · To review health and safety practices and report to the Group Quality Manager the findings. Experience · Proven experience as a Quality Engineer (preferably with experience/knowledge of rubber extrusion) · Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. · Experience of managing/supervising a team · Experience of undertaking non-conformance investigations and implementing corrective actions, including customer complaints and customer reports. · Good working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 · Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook for analysing data and writing reports. Personal Qualities · Demonstrates a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude – willing to daily spending time on the factory floor overseeing testing · Flexible in working ability with a varied range of skills associated to a quality position. · Organised, Methodical, Analytical and Systematic · Self-motivated – drive, perseverance and able to prioritise work with minimal support, demonstrating good time management skills · Possesses emotional intelligence to motivate and direct team members · Ability to communicate with customers, suppliers and internally at all levels, verbally and in writing
