Overview

Title: Mandarin Chinese Speaking Accountant Salary: Up to £42K per annum depending on experience Job type: Full-time, permanent VISA Sponsorship: YES. The client can sponsor a VISA but you must have the right to work in the UK for at least 1 year to be eligible. Sector: Import and export of foods Location: Greater London (south-east). There is free car parking available on-site and other excellent benefits. Language required : Fluent Chinese (Mandarin) and English. Company Introduction : This is a wonderful opportunity to join a food import-export business that has a well-established clientele of restaurants, supermarkets and others in the food industry. Currently, the company supplies around 300 supermarkets in Europe and Asia and this is growing fast as consumers are demanding increasing choice in top-quality Chinese ingredients that allow them to cook genuine Chinese foods at home. All the brands imported are high quality products that use only the finest ingredients. In order to raise awareness of its products, the company frequently attends food shows and other events and is increasingly using social media to increase brand awareness and to showcase recipes. This is a high invoice volume environment as the company supplies multiple products to its customers Responsibilities: PREPARE STATUTORY ACCOUNTS Prepare statutory accounts and compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS; Liaise with external auditors Prepare schedules to support the preparation of annual accounts INVOICES & BANKING Month-end invoice reconciliations (use of SAGE ) Verify invoices against PO's Process invoices and undertake payment runs All bank reconciliations: checking of bank statement, research and reconcile all discrepancies, file the bank reconciliation statement. Deal with VAT compliance SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS Manage all supplier contracts signed by UK companies and third parties Check agreed supplier contracts before making any contract-related payments; Liaise with suppliers to resolve general account/invoice queries; Manage the sales ledger Requirements: Degree educated with finance and accounting related major; Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the UK; Knowledge of SAGE accounting software; Familiar with Chinese accounting software would be a plus; Fluent Chinese and English.
