Overview
About The Role You’ll be part of the Business Services Procurement Team within the Procurement Function, which is responsible for the successful management and execution of all areas of Business Services spend within CBS. Business Services means all procurement activity in the Society’s head office functions (including the Property Function). The team is responsible for procurement and sourcing projects across all areas of CBS outside IT and Change, with the mandate to drive value through best in class strategic sourcing and category management. You’ll have responsibility for developing and implementing the Business Services Procurement Strategy for CBS, demonstrating the benefits of procurement within CBS. Implementing that strategy is pivotal for the effective management of CBS’s entire procurement spend. You’ll be part of a small team and will work closely with senior stakeholders, in particular you’ll be responsible for ensuring that products and services are sourced competitively, cost effectively and in line with relevant policy requirements. You’ll be expected to have a full working knowledge of the CBS procurement process (including RFI, RFP, contract drafting, negotiation and supplier management phases) and be able to manage major suppliers through the entire procurement process. As well as Business Services Procurement related activity, from time to time you may be asked to become involved in broader Function wide opportunities and activities. As a member of the Society’s Procurement Function, the role also requires you to identify report and mitigate third party risk in line with the Society’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework. About You You’ll be educated to A-level standard as a minimum or have a relevant professional qualification (MCIPS). You‘ll have prior experience of specific category/categories within Business Services procurement and have good knowledge of sourcing matters. It’s essential you are able to develop effective relationships with both internal stakeholders and also with supplier organisations. We will expect you to be able to communicate effectively at a senior level with highly developed written, verbal and presentation skills and be confident delivering change through relevant projects and initiatives.
