Head of Business Data Risk Working for one of the global leaders in Investment Management. This role sits with the First Line Risk function which is the business arm of our three lines of defence in supporting and advising our businesses in achieving their risk and regulatory objectives. The function provides proactive support and guidance to management and staff across business and operational areas globally, to ensure that risks are effectively identified and managed in accordance with the enterprise-wide risk management framework. The Data Risk function supports the identification, management and mitigation of data risks across business units. Working to a strategic roadmap focusing on customer-centric objectives, the team works directly with Client Services, Digital, Marketing, Client Engagement, Tools, Distribution, Technology and Data Analytics. Led by the Head of Data Risk, the function operates on a global basis and sits on the reporting line of the COO. Purpose of the Role You will support directly in the implementation of the Data Strategy and the identification, management and mitigation of data risks in the business. The Data Strategy is designed to accelerate development of Client Services, Digital, Marketing, Client Engagement, Tools, Distribution, Technology and Data Analytics; your role will be directly involved in defining the data risk challenges and opportunities in these teams. Your core purpose is to drive forward our three pillars: 1) Protect Data as an Asset, 2) Maximise Value from Data, and 3) Enable the Future. Key Responsibilities - Lead the ongoing Data Programme from a business risk perspective globally both in terms of core risk programs and ad-hoc project deliverables in collaboration with the Technology Programme Director and Operational Data Specialists - Develop excellent partnerships/professional relationships with key stakeholders and ensure clear understanding of the future state and the milestones - Develop cross-functional KPIs relating to embedding of Programme milestones such as data quality threshold levels and associated risks - Manage delivery of business process changes and training including operational efficiency liaison with Heads of Operations and Independent Quality Control - Provide comprehensive and analytical updates on Programme progress and KPIs to boards and committees - Working closely with the Heads of First Line Risk lead group wide scenario planning exercises as required globally and ensure that these are carried out on a timely basis. - Carry out risk-based reviews and provide assurance to the business, as required. Where control weaknesses or adverse customer journeys are identified recommend and track mitigation actions - Lead risk management training and education to increase risk awareness of good risk management practices in the business Experience and Qualifications Required - Previous experience as Programme Director of data-specific programmes required - Experience in management of project management/business analysis teams in globally scoped programmes of work required - 8 years project management experience with examples of delivering engagements in data analytics, digital transformation, technology risk, or similar required - Demonstrable knowledge of data governance platforms (e.g. Collibra, Informatica) desirable - Graduate in related discipline (i.e. Business, Information Systems, Data Management etc.) preferred - Experience in Agile/Scrum/Continuous Improvement environment desirable - Established track record in similar capacity/industry/coverage - Ability to lead, inspire and energise a team operating within global/horizontal connectivity and reporting lines - Excellent at providing innovative ideas and comfortable working under pressure - Strong detail focus, analytical and problem-solving skills - Communicates with influence and is comfortable engaging at all levels of the organisation - Dedicated to maintaining high quality standards and client satisfaction - Works collaboratively and leverages individual talents in support of company practices and goals - Exhibits personal responsibility and accountability to maintain high standards by continually seeking opportunities to increase efficiency and quality of existing work processes, methods, and systems Personal Characteristics - Global cross-cultural competence - Demonstrates an understanding of the definition and aspects of global culture.
