Overview
We have an opening for a HSE Officer to join our clients organisation based in Ayrshire on a permanent basis. Reporting to the European HSE Manager, applicants must have relevant experience gained in Heavy Engineering/Manufacturing and should hold relevant NEBOSH certificate or equivalent. Role Requirements HSE Officer will assist and support site management & workforce in the prevention of accidents and ill health. The role will be based at the Ayrshire manufacturing facility with the occasional travel to other UK facilities. You will offer guidance and support on all matters of HSEE issues to employees and management to aid the continual improvement & compliance of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 & ISO 50001 standards. Responsibilities: Manage and implement the requirements of the HSEE Management systems ensuring compliance with company policy and legal requirements. Agree site objectives/targets with Management to drive continuous improvement initiatives Conduct operational and management system internal audits covering occupational HSEE Support site in the review and development of HSE documentation. Highlighting areas of potential risk & developing action plans with managers & employees to reduce residual risk / hazards. Provide advice, guidance, information, instruction and training on local HSE issues. Complete induction training covering HSE & Energy for new employees & contractors. Manage 3rd party contractor approval. Support maintenance & facilities staff in ensuring all statutory inspections. Manage and co-ordinate emergency preparedness drills. Complete robust investigations of incidents. Collate HSE information to present at monthly HSE meetings. Bring to the attention any major health and safety issues. Support delivery of training. Provide HSE support for the other sites. Competencies Experience of working to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 & ISO 50001 Management systems. Ability to conduct & review RAMS documentation to ensure all applicable controls are available and / or generate required action plants. Ability to conduct thorough investigations following accident, near miss , plant damage incidents. Training/presentation experience. Experience of implementing, monitoring & managing Behavioral Safety is desireable. Experience of Change management & CDM regulations Accountabilities Accountable for promoting a proactive HSE culture that drives continuous improvement through demonstrating a confident attitude unafraid to stop bad practice, explaining reasons why & advising on Company best practice. Performance measures include HSE metrics, TRIR, LTIR & severity rate. The goal is Zero Harm Approved Supplier List; maintaining on time review of contractors who conduct works pertaining HSE. Audits; setting & completing an HSE & Energy annual audit calendar. Close out of actions raised Objectives & Targets; Agree and set HSE & Energy objectives & targets. Monitor progress & report finding to site management. Improvements in Energy performance - data input & reporting annual performance results to site management. Qualifications Qualified to NEBOSH General Certificate or other recognised qualification An environmental qualification desirable Knowledge of HSE Law Proficient in MS Office Applications & experience of business systems e.g. Q Pulse Ability to travel to other UK facilities.
