About us MASS is a technology company with a 35-year heritage in defence, government and industrial markets in the UK and around the world. Our Cyber & Law Enforcement Group provides a comprehensive range of cyber and digital forensics services to our customers. We are currently looking to fill an exciting position for a Digital Forensics Research & Development Manager based at our customer site in Lambeth. The role You will be responsible for the delivery of Technical and R&D solutions as part of a Digital Forensics (DF) Managed Service that we provide for the Metropolitan Police Service. Working in a world leading law enforcement environment, you will be reacting to the customer’s immediate tactical requirements as well as delivering long-term capability building projects. The role will require the scoping and coordination of innovative technology solutions (from software/hardware vendors, DF lab service providers, academia and so on), whilst ensuring that operational requirements are met within time and commercial constraints. You will use your own initiative, experience and research and to pre-empt future threats and opportunities within the customer’s working practices. These will be communicated in regular reports with supporting recommendations. About you You will have a proven track record in technology, IT Security or DF and have a passion for understanding new technologies and problem solving. Though a Digital Forensics background would be advantageous, due the scope of R&D projects, a candidate with a basic understanding of multiple technology disciplines is equally valuable. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to a non-specialist audience, and to speak authoritatively to customers and suppliers regarding technical requirements. You are highly motivated, positive and with excellent interpersonal skills which you use to deliver quality and success across whatever you do. Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision producing visible results for the customer. Essential skills & experience Design, development or research experience in one or more of the following: Digital Forensics, ICT security, RF, Mobile Phone and Computer Exploitation, Computer Networking Enjoy solving technical problems with innovative solutions Ability to self-learn new technologies Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Desirable skills & experience Previous law enforcement sector experience Digital Forensics experience and related qualifications Research and Development track record Qualifications Ideally you will be qualified to Degree level in IT, Electrical Engineering, Digital Forensics or Cyber Security. Please note that relevant experience may be considered in lieu of qualifications. Other things you should know The role is based at our customer site in Lambeth. However, successful candidates must be willing to travel to client locations and other Mass sites as required. Overseas travel may also be required. You will be the ability to attain MPS NPPVL3 vetting and will be prepared to attain other security clearance, potentially up to DV. MASS is an equal opportunities employer
