Senior Java Software Engineer Gloucester To £70K plus extensive benefits package Due to the highly secure nature of this work, candidates must be British Nationals, hold current UK Security Clearance to at least SC Level and be eligible to undertake further clearance to DV Level. Job role responsibilities: You will work with high profile public and commercial clients, delivering improvements to complex systems that make the everyday simpler. Developers are involved with constructing some of the most unique and exciting software solutions within the industry, and you can expect be included within all stages of the project & system life cycles. Responsibilities include: Developing software and applications in either Java, C#, C++, JavaScript, Scala or Python Advising clients on use of Cloud technology Advising clients on Best Practise Using Middleware / Storefront products Migrating from legacy system to meet strategic needs Required qualifications for this role: Is familiar with Agile approach and SE practices including Continuous Integration and DevOps Looks to build quality into the solution at every step with a focus for continually improving A positive attitude: There are unique challenges to this work and the requirements, technologies and problems being solved can change at short notice A pragmatic approach: We are looking for people who can adapt as situations evolve, who enjoy new experiences and always want to learn new things An approachable personality: An open, collaborative and professional demeanour is essential as many roles involve working directly with clients and require people that can present themselves and the Company well Desirable Requirements: Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Technologies: JBoss, ActiveMQ / RabbitMQ, AJAX, NiFi, Hadoop, Apache Kafka, ELK Stack.
