Overview
Development Lead London/ Home Based/ Eastleigh £Neg Barker Munro Insurance Recruitment are delighted to be working with a major UK Personal Lines Insurer with an exciting opportunity to join the expanding EDS team. The core function of the role is to lead the Lab services team in building, testing and production of both prototype and production data with a heavy focus on a cloud-first development approach. As a Development Lead your team are responsible for building and championing innovative data products utilising existing and new technologies The main responsibilities as a Development Lead include but are not limited to: Work closely with Product Owners Driving innovation Work closely with the Data Science Lead to implement Advanced Analytical models into products Coaching / mentoring the lab team towards individual and team development / growth. The knowledge, skills and experience required to be successful as a Data Product Development Lead are: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role(s). Excellent Programming skills (python preferred) A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field. Minimum of 5 years' experience in software development and / or user experience. Line management experience is desirable but not essential. Desirable Attributes: Expertise with Source Control and Dev Ops pipelines Experience with Cloud Computing Environments and developing for PaaS environments. Excellent problem solving abilities. Excellent organisational and leadership abilities will be to develop advanced pricing, underwriting and fraud models using insurance data.
