DXC Technology have an opportunity in the Darwin Hub in Newcastle upon Tyne for an enthusiastic Storage or Backup Specialist to complement our existing team. We are looking for an individual with either discipline – if you have demonstratable experience in both, even better The role will require a flexible working ethic and a pragmatic approach to IT Support. A second or third-line support background is essential as is good communication and customer service skills. Storage Backup HPE 3PAR Storage Arrays Veritas NetBackup HPE Storage Arrays Veritas BackupExec HPE Nimble Storage Arrays Data Protector DELL EMC Storage Arrays (Clariion / Isilon / VNx) Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) NetApp Storage Appliances HPE Tape Solutions Brocade SAN Fabric HPE StoreOnce Appliances Cisco SAN Fabric DELL EMC DataDomain Networker CommVault Desirable Skills · Proactive management - Storage and Backup Infrastructure. · Root Cause Analysis – evaluating issues, suggesting and implementing fixes. · Reporting Skills – for both Proactive and Reactive situations. · ITIL service delivery skills - Incident and Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration and Release Management. · Hardware & Software lifecycle management – monitor product EOLs, define product roadmap, test and implement software releases. · Log hardware calls with vendor for any failed infrastructure. · Provides guidance to employees in lower job levels. · On-call and out of hours work is available.
