Description The DXC Technology consultant focuses on operating and maintaining the Operational environments of DXC customers as per the environment design and contractual agreements. The main goals are to deliver available and secure managed services within Data Centre and Cloud platforms , to continuously increase the level of automation and security, to ensure high availability of the service, and to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. The Technology Consultant is an experienced, multi-skilled professional, who can work within a small team responsible for delivering reactive and proactive operational support end-to-end in DXC-managed Operational environments. The Technology Consultant is motivated to take strong ownership on actions, to find innovative ways to improve the services’ agility and efficiency, and to continuously gain more skills including the willingness to learn Cloud based Technologies Responsibilities Provides Level 3 Backup and Recovery support, with a strong technical understanding of Windows, Linux, ESXi, Storage, Tooling & Monitoring Reacting to and resolving High Severity Issues on Customer Environments Resolution of problems and performing Root Cause Analysis Capacity, Configuration Management Provides advice on solution and integration opportunities for customers Functions as a technical SME for backups and provides work leadership for less experienced personnel Reviews and approves design decisions to ensure that solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and reliability upon deployment. Utilizes standard corporate tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes. Out of hours and weekend work may be required. Essential Skills/Qualifications: Expertise in one or more of the following Backup technologies in an enterprise environment: EMC Networker / Veritas NetBackup / HPE Data Protector Experience in working and providing Backup support in an Enterprise Environment Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to work in a team environment Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action Out of Hours Desirable Skills/Qualifications: Trained or Experienced with the following technologies Server; Windows Server (2008-2017), Linux (Red Hat, CentOS) Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) Monitoring (HP Operations Manager, SCCM) Storage (Dell EMC, NetApp) Scripting (PowerShell, BASH) Trained or Experienced and Certified in cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure Amazon Web Services (AWS) Ability to learn and adapt to new frameworks/technologies DevOps & Agile methodology experience, working with small agile teams, is a plus About DXC Technology DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC) is the world’s leading independent, end-to-end IT services company, helping clients harness the power of innovation to thrive on change.
