Join us as a full or part time Support Worker (experienced or not) for our home in Chester and you'll see why About the role In this MacIntyre home we support people aged between 56 and 64. You will play a key part in assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible. You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community. Activities may include going out for meals, seeing a show or watching a film at the local cinema or even going away on holiday Two of the people we support attend day service from Monday to Friday. Because of the complexity of their learning disabilities, some people require help with intimate care or medication. They may display challenging behaviour but this is very low and usually only requires emotional reassurance and support; There will also be an element of manual handling involved as well but we will provide you with all the training you'll need to be well equipped for such tasks. Full time hours are 37.5 hrs per week which are worked on a rota of 7 & 8 hours covering - 7:30-22:30. Who are we? What we need from you Firstly, you don’t need experience to become a Support Worker but it’s not easy. The work can be demanding and challenging at times but no 2 days are the same and the reward of seeing YOUR personal impact is incredibly inspiring and it’s something you’ll never forget. As long as you have the passion and drive to want to make a real difference, we’ll teach you the rest. With your key attributes and our training, together we can deliver the best possible support. It is essential for this position that you hold a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK, so you can drive the home's minibus.
