Overview
We have a confidential mandate for a lead Tax lawyer role at a respected London law firm. Our instructing client has placed the need for a corporate tax offering at the top of its strategic aims. They envisage sufficient work to accommodate a high-calibre tax practitioner even without a client following; an existing client and contact base will be very welcome but is not essential. The incoming lawyer will be the sole tax lawyer at the firm, with a remit to advise on existing incoming work and to further build their own practice. The successful applicant for this role will have good technical knowledge advising on tax matters regarding M&A, real estate and employment matters. You will work closely with all teams, and in particular with the rated corporate and commercial property groups. The firm sits outside of the large City firms but has a well-respected brand within the London legal market. You are likely to be an experienced Corporate Tax lawyer at Partner, Counsel or similar level, within a highly-rated London-based law firm. We would also consider lawyers from the leading accountancy practices or similar in-house teams. The position will suit someone looking for good autonomy and an established client base they can build on, within a collegiate and supportive culture. Chargeable hours will be very reasonable compared to other practices. The remuneration package will be competitive and will depend on your experience and career track record.
