Overview
A rapidly growing London Market insurance business is looking for an ambitious accountant to join their small team. The role will be responsible for certain aspects of the financial accounting, reporting and internal controls for the Syndicate and other business units. There will also be substantial involvement in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of existing reporting practices as well as creating, developing and documenting new practices. This is a highly visible role and will have close interaction across multiple functional areas of the organisation as well as several outsource providers. Key areas of responsibilities will be: Assessing strength of existing controls and creating news controls where applicable Gaining a detailed understanding of the "as at" process whilst documenting the "to be" process Involvement in strategic ad-hoc projects (Co-ordination and development Keeping up to date with changes to regulatory reporting requirements Support the assessment to changes and ensure systems and processes are changed accordingly Assisting in the preparation and review of Lloyd's regulatory returns Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly board materials Assist in the preparation of various reports for management, compliance and other regulatory requirements Involvement in strategic ad-hoc projects (Co-ordination and development) The ideal candidate will be a newly/recently qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with exposure to insurance accounting. Having trained in practice or in the insurance industry, you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.
