We are recruiting for a Payroll Officer in Leeds and the role is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient in-house payroll services for Link Group’s complex payroll cycles. This includes accurate processing of pay items, provision of advice and response to payroll queries, providing support to the Payroll Manager, whilst working with an international team of payroll professionals across multiple jurisdictions in its delivery of the Group’s global payroll services. The role will form part of the global HR Systems team and collaboratively contribute to the efficient provision of HR systems and payroll services for the Group. Job Description Strategic Focus - Be the local subject matter expert and representative from a payroll perspective in relation to pay queries from management, employees, and external agencies as required - Identify and coordinate changes in policy and procedures governed by local laws that affect payroll - Drive for continuous improvement in payroll and employee HR data processes Operational Management - Accurate processing of pay items for multiple pay groups within Link Group - Responding and resolving to payroll queries from both internal stakeholders (e.g. Finance) and employees in a timely and customer orientated manner - Provision of advice and interpretation of payroll related employment terms and conditions - Calculation of termination payments Coordination on the payment of employee benefits and pensions by working closely with our Performance and Reward team - Complete payroll reconciliation checks and balances processes on UK and Ireland payrolls - Coordinate the workflow and approval of third party payroll vendors in processing employee payments in other jurisdictions - Support the payroll manager with the preparation of payroll reporting as required People Leadership - Develop documentation and educate the international payroll team on local payroll practices, rules, and legislations - Communicate and educate the broader international payroll team to keep abreast of local legislative issues, tax, and payroll requirements Governance & Risk - Ensure adherence to payroll related legal and regulatory requirements - Support Link Group assurance programs that deliver effective risk management and compliance practices for payroll services Qualifications Minimum 5 years payroll processing experience Significant experience in processing a large international payroll of 6000 employees Strong oral and written communication skills Highly developed interpersonal skills; Strong PC and Microsoft package skills in particular Excel Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with people A track record in and/or proven ability to be accountable for end-to-end process, diligence and high quality work A service oriented mindset, with high level of resilience and determination to achieve high quality work Personal commitment to and visible role modelling of the organisation's behaviours and values Experience with Oracle E-Business suite Payroll desirable Relevant Business / Finance / Human Resources tertiary qualifications or relevant payroll professional qualifications are desirable Additional Information Link Group’s purpose statement 'Together we achieve’ reflects how much we value working together: with each other; with our clients; and with third parties, to help everyone achieve success - both personal and professional We have an ongoing commitment to career progression, training and education as well as a competitive compensation and benefits package that under pins this.
