Overview
As a Junior Developer at Sagacity Solutions, you will help execute our market leading data software by providing support in the day to day operation, as well as in the on-going development of our product base, while receiving excellent training in Oracle and other leading software tools and languages. You will work in the multi-disciplined, experienced product development team using a variety of technologies in a cutting edge cloud based environment. You will also potentially undertake client work to implement our applications on-site at our clients. Tasks will include: Product Execution Configure client data, ensuring the data is appropriate and formatted correctly Operate the data products ensuring data is processed correctly and efficiently Quality Assure the output to ensure that it meets expectations Work with our clients to ensure the data is utilised and implemented correctly Liaise with our partners to ensure to smooth execution of our products Product Support Debugging and troubleshooting applications Execute weekly/monthly data processes to refresh reference data Support technical and non-technical and business users in the use of the data products Resolve queries in regards to data and processes connected with the data products Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis of our data products Assisting with the managing and maintaining databases by executing scheduled administration task Product Development Working closely in support with the QTOX product development team assisting in the design, coding, and testing of technical solutions Building enduring reporting solutions for the QTOX products Testing as and when required Providing SQL based analysis and solutions Design and build tactical MS Office based solutions using VBA Utilise data visualisation software to support client business intelligence and in the generation of online reporting Work closely with clients, understanding their processes, assisting in gathering business requirements and converting those requirements into technical deliverables Provide system and process documentation for small to medium size applications Education, Training & Experience You will have strong problem solving and quantitative skills, as well as a good technical awareness and the ability to grasp difficult concepts. You will have worked in a technical environment and Possesses working knowledge of at least one structured programming language. You will also possess basic relational database concepts and be able to write basic SQL statements. You will have the ability to work to very tight deadlines, but also to manage your own time and deliverables whilst working on large projects. The ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and to meet fixed deadlines is essential. Excellent communication skills are also required as you will liaise with senior professionals both within Sagacity and with our clients. You will ideally be educated to degree level in a computer or numerate subject, and with strong A-levels (in mathematical/ scientific based subjects) and will have proven experience in undertaking technical tasks in a variety of relevant industries and the ability to operate effectively in unfamiliar environments, remaining calm under pressure and agile in approach. Desired Skills & Experience: Reasonable database experience, ideally in Oracle or similar Experience of using to SQL to generate basic queries (more advance SQL skills beneficial) Some exposure to Python would be beneficial Understanding of at least one procedural language Excellence in MS Excel including advanced Pivot tables Experience of data visualisation tools such as MS Power BI beneficial
