Overview

As a member of our team, you’ll help in supporting and inspiring our young people whilst we support you to learn and gain qualifications within care. Due to the current needs of our home it is essential that you hold a Children, Young People & Families Practitioner Level 4 (previously Diploma Level 3) qualification. Where you’ll be working Our home has a small holding where we keep farm animals which provides environment enrichment for our young people. Our staff and young people help to look after these. Our Senior Support Worker roles offer a salary of: £9.65 - £11.88 (£19,573.14 - £22,911 per annum) & up to £2,100 sleep-in allowance. Duties As a Senior Support Worker you’ll be doing the following: Supporting the management to run a successful staff team and all day to day operations of the home. To assist the management team with the supervisions of junior staff Inducting new staff into the homes procedure and culture. Ensuring the highest standards of care in relation to the young people’s physical, behavioural and emotional needs. Assist management with the writing and maintaining of placement and risk management plans, review reports etc. Be the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential. Manage the well-being and behaviour of young people ensuring behaviours are addressed promptly and sensitively. Support young people in daily activities include family contacts, shopping, outdoor and indoor activities, and community youth groups, promoting independence and social behaviour. Support and encourage educational engagement. Safeguard both young people, staff and the general public. You will be assigned a key child and play a pivotal role in their day to day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies. Due to the location of the Home, you would need to be a driver and have your own car. Hours As a Senior Support Worker, in our home you can expect the following shifts as our general pattern: 15 hour shift, starting at 0800 with a sleep in attached so finishing at 0830 following morning. Over the roster period you work 11 shifts having 17 days off.
