THE OPPORTUNITY - SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISOR We're not your usual E&P company, we're pushing what's possible and thinking differently. With your finger on the pulse of environmental legislation and best practice, your role will be to provide strategic advice, manage risk and support Spirit Energy's performance assurance efforts across our operations in the UK and the Netherlands making sure that our impact is positive. AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT… Once in role, you will be responsible for: Developing plans and strategies to manage environmental business risks against performance expectations. Being the focal point discussions with the regulator, representing Spirit Energy with relevant groups. Implementing strategies by providing training, setting performance indicators and developing procedures. Providing environmental advice and guidance to offshore operations. Supporting the development and maintenance of the environmental management system. Helping to plan, manage and participate in emergency response situations. Providing input to the departmental budget and managing of external parties that provide services to the HSE department. ABOUT YOU We're looking for someone who can make a positive influence on our planning and environmental risk management approach. It would ideally suit someone with a technical or engineering background, but more important is an interest in compliance and the right attitude and behaviours to thrive in this role and make it your own. To be successful in this role you will: Be able to demonstrate a strong operational focus Build effective relationships through a strong partnership with our North Sea Netherlands operations and stakeholders including regulatory agencies. Have working knowledge of current environmental legislation relevant to the UK and Netherlands. Be adept at identifying environmental improvement opportunities and turning these into actions. Be open to work related travel, spending time at our offices in the UK and Netherlands as well as offshore. This can be a full-time position with your main base in either our Aberdeen or Hoofddorp offices. This isn't a 9 to 5 kind of place, we are happy to consider applications from candidates who would like to do this role flexibly or part time.
