Christ’s College are looking for a Network Manager to join their team in Guildford, Surrey. Network Manager – Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced and qualified Network Manager. You will be responsible for managing all the technical aspects of the school network, server infrastructure in addition to backup and communication systems. This is a role where you will need to be focused on meeting the needs of students and staff by using your skills and problem solving abilities. You need to have good attention to detail and be able to use your initiative. The successful candidate will have a good standard of education and sufficient relevant experience. Prior experience in an educational setting is preferred. For this role you need a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle during the school day. Network Manager – Job Purpose: - To take overall responsibility for the management and development of the network infrastructure within a secondary school, ensuring the safe and reliable running of all ICT systems, in order to maintain a high quality service for staff and students - To be responsible for all ICT hardware and software, servers, storage management, security, disaster recovery/business continuity - To provide the project management skills to allow for strategic planning in the best use of ICT to meet current and future initiatives and developments - The Network Manager will need to ensure a high quality ICT provision is available between the hours of 8am – 4pm - Contribute to work across the Good Shepherd Trust family of schools including working at different school sites. Network Manager – Qualifications: - ITQ level 4, Microsoft Certification IT Professional level 4 or equivalent qualification or experience in an ICT related discipline - A sound general ICT background with knowledge of industry standard desktop application software (such as MS Office) and hardware - Extensive knowledge of Windows 2010 File Server Networks - Excellent knowledge of ICT initiatives and developments in schools/colleges - Aware of different levels of National Curriculum ICT and implications for infrastructure, e.g. consider the implications on server load of all PCs within the school logging in at the same time. Network Manager – Experience: - Planning, managing, installing, configuring, upgrading and maintaining hardware and software and troubleshooting in a networked environment - Working in an office environment at a management level - Working in a senior role in a busy IT support environment and providing desktop and network support in accordance with contracts or service level agreements - Experience of supervising the activities of technical support staff.
