A new opportunity for a Legal Project Manager exists to support & be accountable to a Lead Partner. The role will support the lead client relationship partner in formulating and delivering legal project management best practices across the client relationship globally; specifically by providing matter specific guidance on managing resources, defining and utilising matter work plans, analysing budgets and using LPM technology and knowledge management tools to deliver a streamlined service. •Help deliver best in class service to the client, both in respect of the delivery of legal services and in the context of relationship management •Provide LPM guidance on best practices, tools, techniques, roles & responsibilities •Work with lawyers to draft & submit budget proposals & staffing plans •Identify issues as they arise, options for resolution & course correction for matters that are beginning to diverge from work plans &/or budget •Streamline the administrative process around matter management •With support from the Finance team track & analyse actual matter costs against budget & proactively address budget variances •Set & continually manage matter expectations with team members & client •Develop matter work plans; plan & track matter timelines, milestones & dependencies using appropriate tools & reports •Act as the interface, where appropriate, to matter-specific & other personnel at the client, lawyers in other practice areas & offices, external & opposing counsel & third-party service providers •Arrange post-closing matter reviews & lessons learned exercises The success of this role will be measured by achieving good levels of engagement with key stakeholders, achieving measurable benefits from the activities undertaken and adding value to the organisation by contributing to the development and roll out of legal project management best practices, tools and techniques for a specific client. As a 2:1/1st class graduate or MBA and ideally with PRINCE 2 or APM certification, you will demonstrate a track record of either Legal Project Management or project management/PMO delivery gained within a law firm or Professional Services, Banking, Capital Markets, Management Consultancy or inhouse Legal team within Banking/Financial Services. You`ll demonstrate operational change and business transformation experience, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal ability including executive or partner level liaison, and experience of working cross-functionally.
