Overview

Finance Manager - Edinburgh City Centre (£35,000 - £45,000) Change Recruitment Group have partnered with a true market leader who feed in to a number of sectors, one of which is the Renewable Energy sector. The role is newly created, on the back of continued organic growth and winning a couple of new projects. The business is very much the market leader in their field and have operated at the forefront of the sector for quite some time now. For those who have recently qualified in Practice, or a few years post qualified, this would be a great opportunity, especially for those who have qualified within a Small / Mid-tier sized firm, given the hands on nature of the role. The role will have a strong emphasis on accounts prep., management accounting, financial modelling and liaising at Board level, whilst working with an array of senior stakeholders. As Finance Manager, the role will provide development opportunities to work on individual projects and will be client facing with its main focus on the protection of and, where relevant, the enhancement of shareholder value. These will be achieved through the establishment of adequate financial controls, robust reporting and forecasting in the development of a close working relationship with Directors and stakeholders. Core areas of responsibility within the role will include: · Preparation of management accounts together with variance analysis against budget and underlying financial model for use by senior management and shareholders · Attend and present at Board meetings with senior Project Managers and offer analysis that will drive the projects forward · Ongoing forecasting and financial modelling on key projects · Preparation of annual stat accounts · Liaising with a variety of colleagues and stakeholders to ensure that any areas of uncertainty thrown up by the project review are clarified Key criteria: · Practice Qualified Accountant, with strong technical skills · Sound knowledge of preparing statutory accounts (essential) · Excellent communication skills · Career minded and driven · Experience of preparing tax computations would be helpful but not essential, as would management accounting and financial modelling experience The ideal candidate will come from the profession, and ideally a small to mid-tier firm. Those currently working within the Big 4 will be considered, provided you have hands on experience of preparing statutory accounts. This is a fantastic opportunity within quite a unique organisation that will allow a highly skilled finance professional to apply their technical and commercial accounting knowledge in an environment where they can grow and develop into the role. It's a Board facing role, so communication and the ability to build and maintain relationships at a senior level is essential. In addition to their being an attractive salary on offer, you would receive a bonus of circa. 15%, and a 10% non-contributory pension. Flexible working arrangements and flexi-time are also on offer.
