Overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced Deputy Manger to manage a specialist provision supporting young people with difficulties including identity, self-confidence and weight management difficulties based in Aigburth Salary: £24,000-£26,000 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours/week – Shift work (Including waking nights) Location: Aigburth You will be working within a Residential Home that provides a safe, consistent and therapeutic environment for young people aged 10-18. You will be working using a CBT approach with the young people. You will be experienced with supporting young people with EBD and other complex needs within a residential setting. The home is a specialist provision working with young people struggling with identity, self-confidence and weight management difficulties. Our service is within Residential Children's Homes, providing education, support and guidance. The role: · You will assist the Registered Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality therapeutic care to young people. In order to achieve this, you will hold a comprehensive knowledge of PACE model of therapeutic parenting, along with widespread knowledge of relevant legislations. · You will role model the company values and expected behaviours at all times and work to ensure these behaviours are replicated by your team members. · Career progression and development of staff is valued so you will actively encourage staff progression and training. · Alongside the Registered Manager, you will work to high individual KPI’s and work as part of a team in the achievement of regional and organisational objective. · You will have previous experience of residential childcare management, with an in-depth knowledge of the legislative and guidance framework, as well as a longing to making a difference to lives of young people in care. · You will have the ability to manage and lead a team of staff to deliver care in line with the company’s vision of “acting as a good parent should”. · You will be required to work on the on-call rota · You will recognise your responsibility to safeguard the young people in our care. · Ensure that each young person has a relevant plan which reflects his/her care, education, social, emotional, cultural, and therapeutic and health needs. · Have knowledge of child development and appreciation of the needs of children and young people Requirements: · You will hold a Level 4/5 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Or willing to work towards) · Level 3 Children and Young People qualification · 2 years’ experience working in a senior position within a support environment with Children, Young People and Families. · Working knowledge of issues within children's social work including childcare legislation. · Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with young people and professionals · Enthusiastic in your approach to tough challenges. · Assertive in difficult situations · Able to remain calm under pressure. · A strong communicator with great interpersonal skills.
