Court of Protection Paralegal

A Court of Protection Paralegal is required for an exciting opportunity with an award winning national law firm, for their central Newcastle office. Applications are invited from Court of Protection or Family Law Paralegals looking to enter a new area of law or experienced Legal Assistants/Secretaries with significant legal aid experience and CCMS portal experience. Candidates who are actively looking to make a first or second move and secure more autonomy in the day to day should apply. The successful candidate will join a busy, friendly team assisting with the day to day management of a caseload of Court of Protection matters. Day to day duties will include dealing with all technical aspects of each case including assisting the solicitors in the team and reading and analysing care homes records and medical records. Speaking with clients and drafting statements, attending court to clerk, working with the Legal Aid online portal, including drafting applications to apply for Legal Aid. Full support and training will be provided. The work is low - mid value and is of a very good quality given the firms size. They benefit from a number of repeat referrals due to their high client satisfaction and are keen to continue to develop this further. You will be expected to provide excellent client and customer service at all times.
