Overview

NOC Manager Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the NOC Manager position is based within the Network Operations Centre (NOC) in Manchester. The role of the NOC Manager is to lead and support the NOC team to ensure that the monitoring, alerting and operational procedures are carried out correctly across all of our core voice and data products. This includes the ongoing review of maintenance and provisioning routines to ensure these are factual and relevant and assist the NOC in identifying and resolving any potential service impacting incidents. The NOC Manager is expected to support the Incident Management team and assist with the resolution and root cause analysis of any major service outages and process failures. In addition to this, the NOC Manager is expected to work with key stakeholders across the business to transition new monitoring, alerting and procedural requirements into the NOC and also identifying and plan for any training as a result of these requirements. About You You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels. You’ll be highly organized with a very proactive style of both management and work in general. You’ll have previous experience of managing a technical support team, ideally within a Telecoms environment You’ll have previous experience of managing escalations and major incidents within a technical support environment, ideally within the telecoms industry. You’ll have previous experience of working with senior managers and stakeholders to identify and transition new business processes into the NOC. You’ll be comfortable with large scale telco switch environments, associated transmission and interconnect topologies. You’ll have excellent knowledge and experience of dealing with telecoms and data products, for example SIP, Cisco, MPLS, Ethernet, DSL and Mobile.
