Overview

The Company: A leading supplier of ladies, mens and kidswear are currently recruiting for an Assistant Merchandiser (Urdu/Punjabi skills) to join their well-established and dynamic team, working on the Fat Face account. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, ambitious and have fluent skills in Urdu/Punjabi. The Role: Communicating with buying team and understanding key sample deadline and selection/ sign off dates. Liaising with the factories in Pakistan, India and the Far East. Working with buyers to receive design packs in time to make sure critical deadline dates are met. Monitoring progress of samples with counterpart PAK development team, to ensure arrival on time and adhering to design pack requirements with correct quality. Request buyers feedback on samples selected and act accordingly in either working on revised samples or having prices sent. Once buyer’s finalised selection with price agreement, chase admin team for bookings/ contracts. Once bookings received, send bookings through to clothing ERP team in PAK to generate a PAK PO to add into the ERP. Ensure internal PO’s are correctly issued, checking in particular fabric quality/ wash, garment components and delivery dates. Request buyers styling confirmation/ fit comments to be able to handover style to the garment tech. Ensure ERP critical path is fully updated with garment pics, quantities fabric, agreed prices, garment components and delivery date splits. Explaining rejections which will impact delivery dates to the relevant customer in good time. Attend progress meetings with technologist to ensure issues are resolved and orders run on time. Production updates from factory monitor and ensure orders run on time. Critical path update to the customer to ensure approvals given and orders run in time. Send the development status by 9am to the factory. Check the development status and discuss any concerns with PAK development team. Share relevant development status information with the relevant buyer. Answer all phone calls when required. Adheres to all compliance requirements i.e. health & safety, security and ensures safe use of all IT systems and equipment To ensure health and safety/wellbeing of all staff. Maintains compliance with all confidentiality and governance requirements within the department. Skills Required: Fluent skills in Urdu/Punjabi is essential. Computer literate with strong Excel skills. Excellent communication and organisation skills. Proven ability to handle a busy work load.
