Design Engineer / Graduate Design Engineer Your new company We're pleased to be working with a highly experienced multi-disciplined surveying and project management consultancy, based in Cambridge. Your new role The Design Engineer is an integral member of the Design Department and provides support to the Cad Technicians with the design teams. The Design Engineer assists the Project Manager, Design Manager, and CAD Technicians in the management and production of designs consisting of planning drawings, construction drawings and `As built' drawings to ensure projects achieve the clients targets and expectations. Your role will include but not be limited to the following; Creating designs and drawings for streetworks, greenfields and rooftop telecommunications projects. Redesign drawings according to markups and specifications provided by Field Engineers Read, evaluate and interpret designs and drawings. Create and implement work methodologies and strategies. Attend and carry out measurement surveys in accordance with client instructions Performing assignments in accordance with company and client standards. Ensure customer needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner Share ideas for best practice and process improvement Reviews drawing production activities for compliance with procedures and standards Review client and manufactures specifications to aid production of site designs Attend client meeting's representing Sitec's design department Effectively and accurately communicate programme/project information to customers and internal teams Ensure customer needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner Share ideas for best practice and process improvement · Maintain and monitor Sitec data base What you'll need to succeed Fully proficient in the use of proprietary CAD systems, i.e. AutoCAD Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Background and previous experience in supporting and/or managing small projects Knowledge of telecommunications industry Knowledge of civil engineering industry Understanding and knowledge of project management Good decision making and analytical skills Good communicator with the ability to build and establish relationships quickly Good stakeholder management skills Organised and systematic approach with good attention to detail Good IT skills Collaborating with others Delivering results Analyzing problems and making decisions Learn continuously Focus on customers What you'll get in return As the Design Engineer / Graduate Design Engineer a you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a specialist sector and to deal with high profile blue-chip technology companies across Cambridge and London.
