The Consultancy Group are currently recruiting for a global digital FTSE 250 business based in Central London As a Head of Group Financial Reporting your key responsibilities will include: Lead a team of 4 qualified accountants Develop and motivate them to fulfil their potential and achieve their and the Group's objectives Actively assess the depth and quality of resources available to deliver against responsibilities Oversee the consolidation and input into the monthly Board pack -analyse and articulate key income statement items, balance sheet and cash flow movements and balances for an executive audience Control the year end and half year external reporting processes Liaise with the external auditors, with a key objective of delivering an efficient and low risk audit Ensure that local financial statements are filed in a timely fashion Prepare clear and concise papers to support significant technical judgements and estimates Proactively assess and communicate changes in accounting policies Continuously improve documentation surrounding policy and process for key technical matters Run educational sessions to ensure the technical capability of the entire finance team is appropriate and that accounting policies are properly understood and applied Continuous improvement of our existing financial reporting systems (Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management) to streamline reporting Engage with our transformation team to ensure that the implementation of new finance systems is successful, and the results are fit for purpose Operate and continuously improve key Group reporting financial processes and controls Challenge the business with regular balance sheet reviews and quality assurance Provide advice on ad hoc M&A and restructuring activity and ensure efficient integration Your experience Excellent educational background including big 4 ACA qualification (or equivalent) with a track record of career progression. A superior team leader with an ability to demonstrate experience of developing and motivating team members to fulfil their potential Has worked in a fast-paced, international, FTSE-listed business A high potential individual who we believe has the potential to rise through the organisation and contribute significant value Strong intellect and excellent influencing skills. Confident in opinions and able to communicate them in an effective manner Able to handle complexity and identify key points for insight and takes the initiative to action Strong planning and project management skills with focus on delivery of objectives Fluent and lucid written style suitable for communication at highest levels Well-developed presentation and communication skills with a collaborative, open style Motivated by the chance to change things for the better and with a longer-term view Experience of HFM financial systems Oracle, SAP or NetSuite or similar ERP system experience would be advantageous Passionate, energetic, high drive and ambition as well as a high level of initiative and self-motivation Able to build strong collaborative relationships with a variety of senior business leaders in different locations Enjoys working in a hands-on environment and has a genuine interest in understanding the issues behind the numbers.
