The Data Scientists primary role is to help understand information & trends in vast amounts of energy market data, which will help us make smarter decisions to optimize trading strategies. Client Details My client, a leading commodities trading firm is looking for a Data Scientist to join our rapidly expanding business. The Data Scientists primary role is to help understand information & trends in vast amounts of energy market data, which will help us make smarter decisions to optimize trading strategies. Description The role requires a thought leader, who is comfortable working with high levels of ambiguity and uncertainty and communicating complex ideas easily to key stakeholder. You will also be applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems. Working closely with Front Office traders to scope and deliver data science projects in the refined commodity derivatives space. As a Data Scientist your key responsibilities will cover the following: Investigating and Conceptualising market knowledge from Traders i.e. patterns, indicators Realising commonly observed trends into trading strategies Data cleansing and presenting large data sets from exchanges into an analysable/presentable model Analysing large sets of previous exchange provided data, working alongside traders to identify trading strategies Maintaining and improving systematic trading tools Profile Experience working with Time Series Forecasting/Modelling Solid coding/programming skills in Python or C++ - efficient, well-documented and maintainable modules Experience working with large sets of data Ability to communicate concisely and clearly under a high-pressure environment 3 years of hands on experience in a similar field Job Offer My client are offering a basic salary of up to £85k plus a fantastic bonus and benefits package
