Overview

Lead Engineer - Start Up Global energy-related CO2 emissions flattened in 2019 following 2 years of increases. Emissions trends for 2019 suggest clean energy transitions are well underway. Nominated for 'Tech Start-Up Company of the Year 2019' in their space, the vision is to reduce the world's carbon footprint. How? Through their state-of-the-art platform. They are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead / Lead Engineer (C#, .NET Core, JS, DevOps, Azure) that thrives on technical challenges & shares their passion. You'll be wearing many hats and will be involved in the absolute end to end of everything; from architecture, coding, testing & deploying high-quality software, with the prospects of the role leading to managing a successful Tech team. The core technology focus is on the scalability (auto-scaling) & reliability of the platform for future. To start, this role will be super hands on, working closely with the Co-Founders and a Developer (.NET/ React). The platform is launching in Q2 2020 & has already been built by world-renowned consultants, who you will have some crossover with upon joining. One of your main objectives upon joining would be to learn the ins and outs of the company & platform & then hit the ground running pretty quickly on Infra on Code (Terraform or similar). There is scope to improve the Continuous Integration & Deployment pipelines that are currently set up. This role will have a lot of R&D and a massive impact You choose the language/ technology/ framework/ tool. This is for you if: You're ambitious, you're collaborative & accountable & you've faced similar challenges in a start-up / scale-up environment (ideally a Fin Tech) You are pretty tech-agnostic & understand that it's about 'the right tool for the right job' You pride yourself on still being very hands on, always have an eye on the latest Tech trends & have architected, built & deployed scalable, full-stack systems on serverless architectures with a recent focus in C#, .NET Core & SQL/ NoSQL DBs (Mongo DB/ Cosmos DB) You have experience in setting up Cloud environments ( MS Azure ) & DevOps processes ( CI/CD ) ideally some containerisation ( Docker / Kubernetes) You have front-end experience IDEALLY with ReactJS . If you tick a lot of other boxes, Angular (2) is fine Desirables Experience using distributed ledger technologies / Blockchain based technologies (Ethereum, Solidity etc.) or just a keen interest It would be nice if you've dabbled in other languages such as NodeJS, TypeScript, Python The company has a global roadmap & there are big plans to grow the Software Development team in London over the next few years. You will be heavily involved in growing, leading and inspiring a team, driving best practises within Engineering. Experience doing something similar would be great to bring to the table.
