Overview
HR Advisor Job, based between Kingston and Norbiton- £160/day Reporting to an Interim HR Manager, and with the support of an HRBP, you will be the HR Advisor for a specific client group within this Higher Education organisation. The HR Advisor role is to advise on the application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures in accordance with current legislation and best practice. You will be responsible for case work and employee relations issues through the provision of a proactive and pragmatic professional advisory service including timely analysis. The successful candidate will be competent in managing Employee Relations casework and be able to demonstrate their case management experience, along with their relationship building/stakeholder management expertise. You will provide advice and guidance on all employment queries/casework so as to ensure statutory compliance and that all potential options and risks are provided with recommendations for consideration. This will include probation, sickness absence, capability/performance management, disciplinaries and grievances. You will work pro-actively to ensure cases are resolved to agreed timescales and case reviews are conducted on a regular basis. In addition to this, you will support managers and coach them to improve their competence and confidence to manage casework themselves. Experience in policy development is key to this role as you will be required to support the implementation of process improvements, new procedures and procedural updates by ensuring these are fully embedded and understood across the university. Working with the HR Consultants by providing timely feedback to the Organisational Effectiveness team and suggesting changes to policies/processes that can support managers' expectations. The HR Advisor will be competent in providing Management Information. You will be responsible for providing casework metrics and key performance indicators, providing reports to the HR Manager and HR Strategic Business Partners. Other reports such as contract review, sickness & absence and probation for relevant stakeholders (e.g. Heads of Department, HR Business Partners, etc) will also be required and you will then be able to provide guidance on any necessary action points. Change Management will also form part of this role. You will contribute to change management activity by supporting the implementation of change once approaches have been approved, including data validation activities, selection processes, redeployment process and VS/VEP outcomes.
