Overview
Multi-skilled Fitter We are looking for a Multi-skilled Fitter to work for Gi group at MINI Plant Swindon. The role is to start ASAP. The hours are 36 per week and pay rate is £16.69 - £17.70 per hour dependent on experience. This is a temporary on-going position. Main duties Responsible for maintenance of existing and manufacture of new press tooling and automation in the Tool shop Capable to carry out several skills, i.e. Fitting/Welding or Fitting/Machining and stand-in for Press Tool Process Leader Supports Press Shop Tooling Activities and other business operations if required. Variety Proactive and Reactive activities (TMS/ PCDs/ TWRs and breakdowns) including general tooling performance improvements. Successfully implemented (cost/ quality/ timing) in line with the implementation plan. Production equipment is built to specification and bought off according to EQAP Difficulty Carry out Reactive and Proactive Tool Maintenance activities in a time frame that is supporting the Production Plan (Fahrplan) Capable to carry out more than one key skill in the Tool Maintenance and Manufacturing Process (Machining/ Welding/ Fitting/ EDM) Drive VPS in the Tooling area. Decision making Uses his specialist knowledge to take appropriate decision & action to carry out tool maintenance (proactive and reactive) or engineering changes according to plans provided Identifies needs for tooling improvements based on last-off panel assessment Skills/Education/Job Experience Acts and behaves in line with the 'BMW associate model'. Self-motivated and active team player with good communication skills. Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship City & Guilds/ NVQ Holds more than one recognised Tool-making key skill (Machining/ Welding/ Fitting etc.) Good ability to resolve problems and find creative solutions. In-depth experience and appreciation of Press Tool Technology. Panel quality assessment skills Power Press-Regulations Health and Safety awareness Licenses: Overhead Crane Self-motivated, self-confident, showing initiative and tackling issues in a proactive manner Capable of working to deadlines, having good communication skills with all levels of management Strong team working skills, business awareness and flexibility PC literacy is a must with technical or engineering experience preferable Special knowledge of hand and machine paint application processes Gi Group are committed to protecting the privacy of all of our candidates and clients.
