Overview

Position Title: Shipping Coordinator / Shipping Clerk Location(s): Glasgow Shipping Office SUMMARY: The post holder has responsibility for ensuring accurate timely and efficient shipping of items from and to the Glasgow site, monitoring and taking corrective action where necessary. Provides a high level of proactive customer service to clients and acts as a point of contact to resolve problems as they arise. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Shipping Transport management from/to customers using Air, Road or Sea Freight ( using nominated Freight & Logistics companies). Liaison with Dover nominated carriers and customer nominated carriers. Processing all aspects of import/export documents, customs entries and compliance for export and import entries and clearance through customs via Pacejet system and liaise with Glasgow Chamber of Commerce when required on documentation. Responsible for process compliance throughout the logistics timeline. Communicating verbally and via email with customers and third parties to ensure end to end targets are achieved and despatch complies with Incoterms and customer requirements. Ensuring usage of incoterms / commodity code / tariff codes are accurate. Use of Level D security training to share knowledge and move forward on future Dover Known Consignor Status achievement. Responsibility for both FF and Inpro/Seal shipments. Planning Activites For the TPT Value stream assist the Senior planner with Tier 2 reviews, prepare and present metrics at daily Value stream meeting. Monitor backlog/overdues and late to start orders, work with Cell leaders to put corrective actions in place to bring orders back on time. Launch control activities, ensure jobs are released and job packets printed in line with visual dispatch list. Job closing and administration EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Ideally experience to Cargo Security Level D and Known Consignor status. Ideally experience working for any of the main global Freight & Logistics companies. Ideally experience in up to date usage of incoterms / commodity code / tariff codes. Experience in compliance procedure throughout the logistics process. Good communication and customer service skills Basic Excel skills
